OUR LITTLE TRIP TO FLORIDA.....
Gale, Joel and I took a Thanksgiving vacation to Florida. We stayed at the Mayport Naval Station Lodging in Jacksonville. Here are some photos of our trip:
Gale and Joel at Fort Clinch In 1842, the United States government purchased a tract of land on the northern end of Amelia Island, at the Florida-Georgia border. A military installation was to be built on the property, to guard the mouth of the St. Mary's River, protect coastal and interior shipping, and defend the deepwater port of Fernandina, Florida. Construction began in 1847 on Fort Clinch, named in honor of General Duncan Lamont Clinch, a respected officer who fought bravely in the Second Seminole War. Being judged no longer of military value, the U.S. government sold the reservation to private interests in 1926. In 1935, the State of Florida bought the fort and property surrounding it for preservation and outdoor recreation opportunities. Then, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) developed the property into Fort Clinch State Park.

Today is Wednesday, Nov12th. It's been raining and thundering. I've been working in my craft/guest room and opened the cedar chest. I decided to get rid of my bottle of"NOT GREEN" ketchup as a few spots on the plastic bottle are looking "weakened".......that would be a terrible mess to find ketchup all over everything someday. I did think it was quite amusing the titles that Heinz put on some of their ketchup bottles. I don't know if they are still doing that or not.
